The Brief

Brand Truth, in collaboration with Neo Nomadic, commissioned the editing of two cinematic video profiles for the FNB Art Prize winners, celebrating the extraordinary talent of Haroon Gunn-Salie and Turiya Magadlela. These videos needed to showcase the artists in their element while subtly reinforcing FNB’s role as a champion of the arts—without feeling like overt advertising.

The Approach

Each video was driven by an intimate voice interview with the artist, carefully woven into a sequence of cinematic visuals capturing their creative process and environment. The challenge was to create a compelling, emotionally engaging experience that felt authentic to the artists while maintaining a polished, high-end aesthetic.

The Challenge

Balancing the artist’s story with FNB’s brand presence in a way that felt genuine, not commercial.
Crafting a visually immersive experience, making the audience feel as if they were stepping into the artist’s world.
Seamlessly blending interviews and visuals into a cohesive, artful narrative.

The Execution

  • Cinematic storytelling – Every frame was carefully selected to reflect the artist’s unique style and story.
  • Pacing & rhythm – The edit maintained a dreamlike flow, allowing the visuals and sound design to immerse the viewer.
  • Subtle branding – FNB’s involvement was woven in naturally, ensuring the videos remained artist-centric rather than overtly promotional.
  • Collaboration – Worked closely with producer Talia Hugo (Neo Nomadic) to refine the vision and elevate the final product.
