The Brief
Vodacom required a series of engaging and visually striking videos for the Vodacom Journalist of the Year Awards. Each video needed to:
- Introduce the award category
- Explain the theme and significance of the category
- Showcase the finalists and their submitted work (video, online articles, print, and broadcast media)
- Announce the winner at the end.
A key challenge was presenting online articles beautifully within a video format while ensuring a dynamic and engaging flow.
My Role & Approach
I was responsible for editing and animation of all 13 videos, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience. My work included:
- Video Editing & Post-Production – Assembling, refining, and enhancing footage to create a compelling narrative.
- Motion Graphics & Animation – Designing custom graphics and animations to introduce categories, finalists, and themes.
- Cinematic Stock Footage Integration – Carefully selecting and editing stock visuals to complement each award theme.
- Creative Layouts for Online Articles – Transforming static text-based content into visually dynamic video elements.
Beyond execution, I developed a cohesive visual identity that aligned with Vodacom’s brand while making the production feel fresh, modern, and unique.
The Outcome
A total of 13 high-quality videos were produced for the event. The audience—comprised of industry professionals—praised the stunning visuals, a testament to the success of the project. The client was extremely satisfied, making the production a resounding success.
