The Brief

Comedy Central Africa needed a series of engaging channel promos to promote their monthly lineup. The goal was to highlight upcoming shows using excerpts from the programming combined with animation, creating dynamic promos that would entice viewers to tune in. These short, high-energy promos aired on Comedy Central and across other DStv channels to maximize audience reach.

My Role & Approach

I was responsible for the full editing and motion graphics for these promos, ensuring they were visually compelling and aligned with Comedy Central’s brand. My work included:

  • Video Editing – Selecting and cutting the best excerpts from featured shows to create an engaging narrative.
  • Motion Graphics & Animation – Designing custom animations, transitions, and text graphics to enhance the comedic tone.
  • Pacing & Timing – Ensuring fast-paced, engaging edits that kept viewers interested.
  • Brand Consistency – Incorporating Comedy Central’s branding elements while keeping each promo fresh and exciting.

The Outcome

The promos successfully increased engagement and viewership, with vibrant visuals and sharp editing helping to capture the essence of each comedy lineup. By seamlessly blending show excerpts with dynamic animations, the promos stood out on-air, driving audience interest and excitement.
